Inaugurated in 1965 and designed by Javier Arana, this magnificent 18 hole course with its par 72 is set into a beautiful sloping valley, offering challenging greens.

Owned by the Rio Real Hotel Resort, it has its own country club and Golf learning academy. Considered as one of the best Golf courses in Marbella, it hosts prestigious tournaments and offers several holiday break golf + hotel packages.

Holes 4 and 5 run close to the sea and are reached by an underpass beneath the Málaga-Cádiz coast road. The 6th, a par three requires a particularly accurate tee shot to avoid the hillside on the right whilst at the 8th, although it is not especially difficult hole, one must avoid the bunkers which protect a raised green. The dogleg 10th is a pretty par four leading to a spectacular 11th tee which looks down to a green whose access lies across the river which gives the course its name – Río Real.
